Hey where is that tax money?

Those of us who know we can not afford this rail scheme welcome the new person who came from another system which is in sorry shape and hemorrhaging tax money even faster than we are as they have built and built and built with no concern about the costs.

So to get things started off right we are asking everyone in Mecklenburg County to put off any purchases you need and go to another surrounding county to buy. The taxes are lower and not one penny of your money will be going to the half cent sales tax which supports this waste of money called Charlotte Transit System.

Can you imagine the jolly Christmas season when the retailers contact the Charlotte Chamber and demand they stop supporting the rail scheme so they can get our business back. Can you imagine the fact they will have to actually stop hiding money in our general budget from projects not done all over our city and dumping them into the rail projects?

So Don’t buy anything in Mecklenburg County.

The Street Car is BAAAAAAAAAK and even more scary than ever before.

With an infusion of a mere 4.5 million the City Council is moving ahead so they can keep the promise they made to the Black Political Caucus so they would help keep the Transit Tax. They voted for the mere 4.5 to help design the streetcars. Why not just buy a design that is already being made and save some money. When I go to buy a car I do not want to have a new one designed for me. I know that just adds to the cost.

So when they tear up the streets and keep traffic snarled for a couple of years and then wonder why businesses have closed and people are angry then they might wonder if buses could have been better and less intrusive of course a LOOOOOOOT cheaper.

The Mayor vetoed the funding for the Central Ave., Beatties Ford Road Street Cars.

Even after the promises made to the Black Political Caucus.

He did this to help the few remaining elected officials so they would not have to take the ire of citizens as he is leaving this term.

Oh and I am sorry I said good bye trolley. That is a rich persons plaything and will be treated like a golden cow along with the Light Rail. Meaning they will be here forever even though they take funding from the buses which is needed as they cut service and the like.

Who cares if we can afford it! We want it!

Years ago I asked Ron Tober to get the demographics on just who would be and then later who was riding light rail.

He said the did not do that type of research.

Now the Observer puts out an analysis from CATs that shows the light rail rider has other options.

Meaning the ride the rail but will never ride the bus. So our costs of about 36 dollars each way to carry these rich people is working. They are leaving their cars at the free parking decks and taking the light rail. Keep in mind they are also doing this to go to the games and plays. Hey but that is what this is all about. Rich people getting out of their cars and into those over priced light rail rides. We could carry this for about four bucks each way but that would be on a bus and we already know they have other options.

So finally the truth is out and we now know why these outrageous millions were spent. Rich People we love you soooooo much, please feel free to enjoy our trains that make you feel better than riding those nasty buses that we have had to cut back on their schedules in the areas of town which needs them so we could afford to keep up your rides on the light rail.
